Three Minute Thesis Competition
Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an internationnally recognized competition for thesis-based graduate students.
The principle
Participants present their scholarly and creative activity and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less. The challenge is to present complex research in an accessible and compelling way with the assistance of only one static slide. FESP organises Université Laval's competition. The winner of the competition will represent Université Laval at the regional 3MT competition.
CAGS competition
The first leg of the competition is held at faculty's level. Finalists are invited to compette at the Université Laval's level. Université Laval's Champion will go and represent the establishment at the Eastern Canada competition. Three finalists of the regional competition will advance to the 3MT National competition.
NAGS competition
The winner of the Université Laval 1st Prize will also participate in the competition that will take place at the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools ( NAGS) annual meeting.

Each finalist will receive a $25 gift card offered by Coop Zone de l’Université Laval
The winner of the French-speaking part will represent Université Laval in the national grand final presented by ACFAS. The winner of the English-speaking part will compete in the CAGS Eastern Canada Final and the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools (NAGS) Final.

Northeastern American final (NAGS): April 28, 2022
In the event of a discrepancy between the French and English texts, the French version prevails.
2023 edition
Université Laval's competition (both French and English) were held in March 2023. The webcast of the event is available.
National competitions
Ophélie Martinie, the winner of MT180, represented Université Laval in the national grand final presented by ACFAS in Montréal on 10th May. She granted the People's Choice Award.
Manal Al Dow represented Université Laval in the 3MT National competition (CAGS) in Halifax on 13th June 2023.
